I bought these pants to wear hiking in Ireland in September and October so I haven't used them outdoors on a daily basis yet. My review is limited to sizing (fits as expected), and appearance and quality (both are excellent). Once I wear them for the intended purpose I can give a more in-depth review.

The very first time I wore these pants I noticed pilling along the sides near my hips. According to a google search piling occurs with certain fabrics in areas where where there is rubbing and the way to remove the pills is to run a clean shaver gently across the fabric. I could see if there was pilling after wearing for a few years, but it occurred the very first time! Makes you wonder why the Sahalie buyer could have selected this item to carry in their catalog--isn't there any quality control? Buyer beware. There is lots of maintenance with this fabric so I do NOT recommend these pants.

The other reviewers are absolutely right. The pants pilled on the first wear even without washing. I have a pair of fleece I bought at a discount bargain store for $5 and they have lasted 15 years. These are going back in the mail today. First order from Sahalie and am very disappointed.

While I want to love these pants because they are comfortable, the fabric pills right off the bat. There were spots pilling after the first wear and before even washing them. They end up being a very expensive sweat pant with pill bumps all over them. You would have thought I had worn them much more than I had after the first wash. Definitely need to launder them per instructions. No drying or they will shrink.

The smooth outer side of the fabric of these pants PILL A LOT anywhere there is even a bit of friction and I have only worn them one time. The crotch, knees, front and sides of thighs around the pockets and anywhere my loose and roomy down jacket may have touched or slightly rubbed against the pants is extremely pilled after being worn for only a few hours,of getting in and out of the car and walking my dog a few times.
On the plus side, the fleecy side of the fabric faces your skin and is soft, cozy and very stretchy. The pants ARE warm on a cold winter day in Pittsburgh, PA. The pants are very comfy. I haven't laundered them yet so I don't know if the whole pant will pill after being washed.
Can't wear these pants to even run errands if I want to look presentable. Very expensive relative to the quality of the fabric.

I have two pair of these pants from a previous order about 2 years ago. I love those two and they still look awesome. The label inside of those is Avalanche. This new pair I just received is a Sahalie label and could not be more disappointed!! I washed them before I wore them and they came out of the dryer all pilled. They are comfortable, but will not wear these in public. Please go back to the Avalance label!!

They are great for winter relaxation. Warm, soft, and comfortable. They fit just right also. I have more than one pair I love them so much.
